When you are photographing someone as gorgeous as Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto it is pretty hard to take a bad photograph, especially so if you are Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot and the shoot is for Interview Magazine.

Freida looks timeless, in this beautiful, high contrast shoot for the August 2011 issue.

DKNG - Design

I always get worried when I am producing my own design work that I am doing it wrong, taking influences from the wrong sources or overcomplicating the process. So when I found these videos from Los Angeles based design studio DKNG (it makes me sick too, where is my Los Angeles based design studio?) I was so pleased that I was actually designing pretty normally and although everyone has different processes it is always interesting to see how others work.

DKNG focus on the music and entertainment industries so their body of work is pretty amazing, have a look!

What The Average Woman Looks Like In Every Country

According to Faces Of Tomorrow and artist Mike Mike; this is what the average woman in every country looks like...although personally I think that should be what the average woman would look like if she was a total hottie and never ate crisps.

Mike Mike's project combines hundreds of photographs of the faces of women from various places, in an attempt to highlight the faces “average” features, country by country.

Ruben Ireland - Illustrator

London based illustrator Ruben Ireland has just updated his portfolio with some more stunningly eerie work and has recently been published in BlackBook Magazine.

His work used mixed media such as ink,acrylic, photographs, found materials and even dirty water which he collages, layers and paints in Photoshop.

Craig McDean & Tom Ford for Interview Magazine February 2011

I am becoming such a huge fan of Photographer Craig McDean without even realising it. Every time he does something new I find myself loving it before I even realise it is by him.

This latest shoot featuring Tom Ford for Interview magazine, February 2011 is no exception. He always manages to take things further than just a standard fashion/editorial shoot and the post production effects here are great.

As usual Tom Ford 'gave good interview' here are a few choice quotes from his interview with
John Currin.

"I'm an equal-opportunity objectifier. Because I make the detachment I'm capable of objectifying a beautiful woman but that doesn't demean her in any way."

"My expression of beauty is something I do naturally. I love the human body—the female body, the male body...I'm very comfortable with naked bodies."

"Gay men make better designers."

"When I come home...I wear no clothes until I leave. I eat naked. I do everything completely naked."

Graphic Design From Radiandesign

Radiandesign is a graphic design studio from France. They merge photo-manipulation, graphic design, logo and web design to create some pretty interesting work.

Giampaolo Sgura and Bianca Balti for Francesco Scognamiglio

Wow!! I love it when designers decide to do something even slightly different with their campaigns and I especially love these spring 2011 advertisements from Francesco Scognamiglio shot by Giampaolo Sgura and starring Bianca Balti.

The hand drawn and photo-montage elements are simply gorgeous and work so well with the photos they are paired with. By themselves the photos could be a little boring and the montages a bit drab, but together they create something special that still keeps the focus on the label's over the top and voluminous designs.
