Margaux Lange - Dead Barbie Jewelry

I have been watching loads of Dexter recently so maybe that is why I was drawn to this chopped up Barbie jewelry from US artist Margaux Lange as is remeniscent of some of the plotlines. That and it is AWESOME! I went a bit OTT with the pictures of her 'Plastic Body Series' which utilizes salvaged Barbie doll parts in combination with sterling silver and pigmented resins, but there is a lot more to see on her website.

Barbie in Vogue Black Issue

Vogue Italia's first 'Black Issue' was just 1 year ago in Jluy 2008 and starred several iconic black models including Iman, Naomi Campbell, Liya Kebede, Sessilee Lopez and Jourdan Dunn. The intention was to send a message to the world about the importance of diversity in fashion.

For this years 'Black Issue' Vogue Italia have produced a collector's supplement to go with the magazine showcasing the many looks of Black Barbie.

"Barbie has been an icon for whole generations which is why I really wanted to give a strong sign in step with the times, and dedicate the anniversary issue to Black Barbie," Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia
Sozzani said, speaking to Vogue UK.
