What The Average Woman Looks Like In Every Country

According to Faces Of Tomorrow and artist Mike Mike; this is what the average woman in every country looks like...although personally I think that should be what the average woman would look like if she was a total hottie and never ate crisps.

Mike Mike's project combines hundreds of photographs of the faces of women from various places, in an attempt to highlight the faces “average” features, country by country.

Hair War - Peter Grey & Charlie Le Mindu

Say Whaaaat?

This latest editorial from hairstylist Peter Grey and former assistant Masa Honda, photographed by Takahiro Ogawa as part of the Asia Beauty Expo, has had critics screaming 'HAIR WAR' after people noticed striking similarities between it and the work of the brilliant Charlie Le Mindu.

I think as long as people are being creative and inspiring each other then leave them to it. But if I was Charlie I might be more than a little bit gutted.

I know I have already posted an editorial from Volt 07 today (it's a good issue) but as I mentioned in the last post I love anything involving a bit of paper, especially if it is pritt-sticked to someones face. So I had to share this AWESOME beauty story with you.

Alex Box - Make - Up Artist

There aren't many people who's work I love enough to print screen and individually crop and save all the images to go on this blog, but that of make-up artist (and I say arstist here in it's true sense of the word) Alex Box just had to be shared.

Having recently collaborated on a book, with Rankin, she has also worked for Gareth Pugh, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, and is the driving force as the creative director for Illamasqua.

Her work is simply beautiful, so creative, understated and over the top all at the same time. It is amazing.

Obviously I was going to love New York based fashion and beauty photographer Jamie Nelson's work as it has been featured in two of my favourite magazines Plastique and Nylon (as well as Spanish Harper's Bazaar and Italian Vanity Fair amongst others.

Sorry for the weird format with these pictures but the styling is so amazing I thought there wasn't really any point in breaking them up, so you'll just have to click on the individually to view them in their full glory.

Rankin For Sightsavers International

Photographer Rankin has joined forces with six of the most creative make-up artists around at the minute Michelle Campbell, Linda Ohrstom, Ayami, Eli Wakamatsu, Mary Greenwell and Caroline Saulnier, to create a series of striking photographs to promote World Sight Day for charity Sightsavers International. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the plight of blind women, 90% of whom live in developing countries.

People are LOVING work from London based beauty photographer Iain Crawford right now and I have to say I am in agreement with them. I really suggest you check out his website because the pieces have posted here don't do his work as a whole justice.

His shots are always perfectly composed and full of vibrant colours and interesting textures flowing through the page and creating the most beautiful shapes around his models. His technique of capturing just the right moment and his skill at enhancing post-production makes for flawless work.
