Cosmic Animated Gifs From Ignacio Torres

Texan photographer Ignacio Torres  now lives in New York city. His work explores youth, identity and scientific theories through the use of photography, animated gifs and video. His most recent work 'Stellar' is based around the idea that humans are made of cosmic matter as a result of a stars death.

These pictures are not digitally enhanced, instead Ignacio used dust and reflective confetti to create the impression of celestial galaxies.

I have been loving the work of street artists BUFFdiss for a while. Who needs wallpaper when you ,have a couple of rolls of masking tape and some time on your (steady) hands.

New York Based designer Iveta Abolina started drawing in early childhood – tracing over pictures from books and magazines. She now works as a Senior Designer for Showtime Networks in New York.

Fred Lebain - Artist

Photographer Fred Lebain took shots of various locations around New york, then printed out
some large details, returned to those spots and made new photos of the prints aligned to the locations. Not the most original idea, however the effect is still really cool.

Artist - Karen O'Leary

This is such a simple idea, that looks really cool. But is something most people with little to no patience (hello me) would manage to fuck up.

There is loads of art-crap being said about this work from artist Karen O'Leary in which she cuts out maps of New York, Paris and London to do with positive and negative space and it's significance. But I just think they look really cool. Like giant spidersweb/crazy spaceage doilys.

Obviously I was going to love New York based fashion and beauty photographer Jamie Nelson's work as it has been featured in two of my favourite magazines Plastique and Nylon (as well as Spanish Harper's Bazaar and Italian Vanity Fair amongst others.
