James Reynolds - Last Suppers

I have been meaning to post this work by James Reynolds for aaaaages. Having recently graduated from Kingston University after studying graphic design, this series of photographs from the now London based James, entitled 'Last Suppers', documents former Death Row prisoner's requests for their last meal before execution. You can really see a sense of personality and humour in the work and I actually find it really kind of morbidly interesting to see what they picked. My favourite foods are sushi and sandwiches but I think if I was dying I might go for something more substantial...like a bear .

Fumie Sasabuchi - Artist

I thought I would continue the horror theme with some work from Japanese Artist Fumie Sasabuchi and his reworked fashion magazine pages. It's not surprising seeing as this is a site full of stuff that I love...that I love them. They are so creepy, but in the most beautiful way, the colours are gorgeous and the hair is immense.

I Love LucyandBart

Man! Do I LOVE LucyandBart , a collaboration between Lucy McRae and Bart Hess. There work is so theatrical and beautiful and the shapes they manage to create are incredible, touching on impossible.

Unusual Art Mediums On My Modern Metropolis

I just saw this great post on My Modern Metropolis about ordinary things being turned into extraordinary art. The post features work by Juan Francisco Casas and Pantone who we have previously had on this blog, but also loads of other artist like Yuken Teruya who carves into paper bags and transforms them into miniature trees and others who work with found objects. I just found these random notes that some guy called Craig has been leaving around the streets of Melbourne. I dunno if it is art of just the rambling of a mentalist but people with a lot of time on their hands are always the most funny. Click to Enlarge them.

The Clutch Chair

This cool chair, developed by Scott Jarvie, from an observation of the structural characteristics of trees, is made from 10,000 drinking straws. That is a lot of McDonalds milkshakes, Subway cokes and old peoples puréed steak dinners to get through.

Clemens Behr -What a Legend

Everyone has been hyping Clemens Behr for a few weeks now and I have to say it is definitely justified.

His installations are both confusing and exciting at the same time, seemingly breaking the barriers between dimensions it is sometimes hard to tell if you are looking at an amazingly talented 2D artist or if shapes really are coming out at you.

The artist, who currently lives in Barcelona, uses black bin bags,cardboard boxes, masking tape and other cheap, household objects to produce something aesthetically exciting and that personally, I love.

Bela Borsodi Recreates the 'Alphabet'

These pictures are from Bela Borsodi's amazing Trompe L’oeil series 'Alphabets' in which plays on the negative space created by everyday stuff (and an uncomfortable looking woman).

Straight after seeing these I had mess around with things in my room (namely a pair or tights, a USB cable and a stale piece of garlic bread) but needless to say my attempt didn't really achieve the same effect.
