I really love this retro style street art from Spanish artist Eme which features nihilistic slogans in the pitch perfect vintage typography alongside characters that walk a flawless line between cutesy and sinister.

Sandra Suy - Illustration

Sandra Suy lives in Barcelona loves draws beautiful women with beautiful dresses.
She studied fashion design, but preferred drawing, so she decided to combine both things and become a fashion illustrator. Her work reminds me of other favourites Francesca Waddell and Stina Persson.

Paris, London, Barcelona and Beijing by Gustav Johansson

I have been desperate to live in Barcelona ever since I went inter-railing when I was 18 and this short video series directed by Gustav Johansson for Education First: Live the Language did nothing but encourage me.

The videos were shot in Paris, London, Barcelona and Beijing and are kind of cheesy at times but they feature some great typography work and manage to present a reasonably accurate portrayal of life in a different city.

If anyone in Barcelona needs a blogger let me know!

Cecilia Lundgren - Ilustrator

The main appeal of Swedish illustrator Cecilia Lundgren for me is how uncomplicated her work is and her -harder than you might think- ability to make a technical drawing look effortless.

I love the very clean almost graphical use of flowing lines and their varying textures as well as the gorgeous girls she chooses to capture, but most of all I love how she doesn't over do it, instead deciding to keep things simple with a limited but striking use of colour that jumps out of the page at you.

Manuel Rebollo - Illustrator

I was just browsing through all the blogs I follow when I noticed one of my favourite ever illustrators Manuel Rebollo aka elgatoazul had updated.

Born in Salamanca, Spain, Manuel's work reminds me of Monsieur Qui and another of my favourites Stina Persson but with a slightly more graphical feel (which isn't surprising seeing as he is also a graphic designer) I am a sucker for a beautiful girl in a limited colour palette.

Graffiti Artist Sr.X

Sr. X is a stencil-graffiti artist based in Gijon, Spain. I love how he works so well with his surroundings to incorporate existing graffiti, manholes or even cash-points into his pieces. His blog is full of his latest works have look here. You can also access his Flickr page through that which doesn't have a lot of work but is interesting to have a peep at.

Hey Studio Graphic Design

Hey Studio graphic design are really good at communicating a strong and simple message. Their work makes an impact but is still easy to understand universally. The studio based in Barcelona have just finished a branding project for Intermón Oxfam which placed a significance on certain words through the use of graphic illustration. I think it works really well and the use of colour is great.

Clemens Behr -What a Legend

Everyone has been hyping Clemens Behr for a few weeks now and I have to say it is definitely justified.

His installations are both confusing and exciting at the same time, seemingly breaking the barriers between dimensions it is sometimes hard to tell if you are looking at an amazingly talented 2D artist or if shapes really are coming out at you.

The artist, who currently lives in Barcelona, uses black bin bags,cardboard boxes, masking tape and other cheap, household objects to produce something aesthetically exciting and that personally, I love.
