Ricardo Fumanal from Madrid, Spain has some obvious skills with a pencil. Taking inspiration from fashion magazines, he manages to re-create flawless skin, fabric and hair textures with the most subtle and controlled shading. The magazine covers are from a while ago, but he has recently updated his blog with more resplendent works and here they are.

Richard Burbridge, Maurizio Anzeri & Robbie Spencer for Dazed & Confused

A friend actually bought me this June 2011 Issue of Dazed and Confused when it first came out, she was so confident that I would be in love with this editorial and I absolutely am, it just took me ages to get it together to post it.

The shoot is a collaboration photographer Richard Burbridge, Italian artist Maurizio Anzeri and stylist Robbie Spencer.

Black and white photographs taken by amazing Richard Burbridge were embroidered by Maurizio Anzeri an artist who is best known for his series of embroidered portraits made from photogrpahs found in flea markets. His work is spectacular trust me, but this editorial is something else.

Jacob K - Stylist

Jacob K was born in Denmark but now works in London as a freelance fashion stylist. After moving to London, Jacob worked for Peter Jensen then went on to assist other stylists including Anna Cockburn and Olivier Rizzo, eventually styling independently for various international photographers including Benjamin Alexander Huseby the incredible Tim Walker. He is also a regular contributor to Italian and L'Uomo Vogues, Vogue Nippon, Dazed & Confused, Teen Vogue and Fantastic Man magazines.

I have seen this concept a lot before but it is usually illustrated or just images overlayed in Photoshop. But the limited colour palette and beautiful viscous style line cutting in this editorial styled by Robbie Spencer and photographed by Damien Blottiere for Decembers Dazed & Confused helps turn this fashion editorial into a really amazing piece of design work.
