Models Wear Raw Meat, Dead Animals, Candle Wax & Insects Laced into Their Skin for Photographer Iwajla Klinke

I imagine 'Ritual Memories' the most recent series from Berlin-based photographer and filmmaker Iwajla Klinke will be much talked about as people try to decide on it's true artistic merit.

The subjects in the shoot wear raw meat, dead mice and ducks, hot dripping candle wax and even insects laced into their skin.

As someone who has a strong interest in styling and fashion, personally I love it on a purely aesthetic level. Particularly the first two images and the pear collar. It really inspires me to look more closely at the beauty in 'unbeautiful' things .

However the main theme of Klinke's work is that or cultural identity and the way certain groups adorn their bodies sacredly for religious and spiritual ceremonies.

The work will be on display at STYX Projects Berlin this upcoming month.

Carnovsky's 'Magic' Light Wallpaper - New Work

If you get bored of your surroundings easily and find yourself constantly redecorating then this series of wallpapers from Italian studio Carnovsky created for the Milan Design Week could be just for you.

The designs were originally created for the Milanese shop Jannelli & Volpi, a noted Italian wallpaper brand.

Each one features overlapping illustrations, different elements of which are revealed depending on whether a blue, green or red light is shone upon them.

They are now being exhibited in the Johannsen Gallery in Berlin until February the 10th.

Conny Dreher - Illustrator

Conny Dreher was born in West Berlin and studied fashion design and textiles at ESMOD. After working as a designer for 3 years at Mustang Jeans, she then had her work displayed at the Berliner Liste Fair for contemporary Art, held at Gallerie Hermann & Wagner.

She has recently decided to focus more on her illustration work, which fuses collage, hand drawing and photography.

It kind of reminds me of stuff from Kaws, especially the last image, which uses his trademark Mickey Mouse gloves.

Saddo - Artist

I was just having a little look on Behance when I came across some brilliant work from German artist 'Saddo', specialising in drawing, graffiti arts and illustration as well as customisation, I love the use of colour in the first few pictures from his collection 'Zombies in Berlin'.

Crazy, Freaky, Giant 'People'

These gigantic marionettes were produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, for a performance by France's Royal de Luxe street theatre company, entitled 'The Berlin Reunion' that lasted several days that took place in Berlin (obviously!) this month.

I want one to freak out all my enemies (and all my friends).

I'm slightly, worried that they might have actually been created by the government or an evil scientist to take over and kill us all, or at least horifically maim us and turn us into their slaves.

But maybe I am just being silly...
