Francesca Waddell - Fashion Illustrator

Glasgow based fashion illustrator Francesca Waddell studied drawing and painting at The Glasgow School of Art and then went on to study fashion design.

It is only natural then that her love of fashion influences her illustration work whch uses a combination of old school pen and ink and photoshop.

Linda Evangelista features in this religiously charged editorial for W Magazine's 'Art Issue', shot by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan who is best known for his subversive sculptures including one of Pope John Paul II being hit by a meteorite and another of a child-size Hitler kneeling in prayer, oh yeh and a suicidal squirrel. Whatever floats your boat mate.

The Amber Valletta one was released a few days ago but I didn't think it was good enough to share really. But now there are more you kind of need the whole set. I am biased because I love everything to do with the words 'Urban' and 'Decay' (note my email address) But this story from Vogue Italia, which happens to have that same name really is amazing. The lighting! The drama! It really reminds me of work from old school photographers George Hoyningen-Huene and Horst P Horst.
