I wanted to post this editorial photographed by Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia March 2011,
mainly on the strength of the amazing cover shot featuring 29 year old Saskia de Brauw, wearing a Macramé lace mini Dolce & Gabbana dress embroidered with Swarovski crystals and silk culottes with intricate 'dazzling' detail.

The mix of colours and prints work so well together to create a really striking image that is just on the right side of over complicated.

The rest of the shoot, styled by Panos Yiapanis is interesting style-wise and I love the set, but it doesn't quite work for me.

I was overwhelmed by the beautiful use of lighting in A Dreamy Touch by Sølve Sundsbø for this months Vogue Italia.

The streams of pale gold sunlight work perfectly to emphasize the ethereal quality of Valentino’s romantic creations, which were styled by Patti Wilson and modelled by Melissa Tammerijn.

For me it really adds a new dimension to the feminine ruffles and ethereal colour palettes that seem to be everywhere right now and I have previously had a hard time getting into. But the bleached floors, clinical curtains, bandaged legs and strap detailing give the styling an unnerving ans ghostlike appeal that I love.
