Matthew Brandt’s Lakes And Reservoirs series are photos of just that -lakes and reservoirs, however he then soaks each print in the body of water that it depicts.
To me this seems like the kind of lame technique I would have employed when grasping at straws during GCSE art, but in fact the water manages to give each photograph a unique abstract quality of color and texture; an almost sculptural quality. So it is like getting two works of art for the price of one really. Lovely.
