Illustrator Mike Perry For Insound 10 Classic

Mike Perry has been chosen as the artist for this years Insound 10 Classic project, which brings music and art together, producing limited edition designs inspired by bands.

This year instead of new bands, Mike has produced artwork for 10 seminal (and unfortunately mainly defunct) punk, new wave or indie bands, all active between 1977 and 1997.

Mike makes books, clothing, art, illustration and more from his Brooklyn studio. His designs have appeared in the New York Time Magazine, Dwell Magazine and Urban Outfitters amongst others.

Michael Paul Young -Creative Design Studio

Michael Paul Young is an artist, designer, photographer, director, producer and programmer. He has worked with companies such as MTV, VH1, Ford, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, HP, Apple and Microsoft and at only age 23 he was nominated for the highly prestigious Chrysler Design Award, typically reserved for architects.

I love the use of colour in his works, and the use of layering to create texture. To me these digital pictures look at though they could have been screen-printed, giving his work a technical yet still raw and paired down feel.
